Wedding in Wine Country

by | Weddings

I can’t express how happy I am when I get to do weddings at The Hunting Lodge at Waimauku. The wedding team there are absolutely fantastic, we all love working together to make sure that the day’s ceremony runs like clockwork for our couples.

One of the things that the Hunting Lodge do spectacularly, is the way they seamlessly transition their space from the ceremony setting into celebration ready with the reception set up. It’s like magic!

Photography: Sarah Weber
Venue: Hunting Lodge

The Hunting Lodge has a space with a covered in roof that is perfect for ceremonies … it’s open at each end so the photographer – in this case, Sarah Weber – can capture the gorgeous depth of field that an outdoor setting offers … whilst keeping the wedding party and guests cosy and dry, which on a moody, misty Auckland day like this one was … is absolutely perfect. Check out her stunning photographs of these two lovely ones!

Gabrielle and David were absolutely divine to work with … I loved their easy rapport with each other and their misty, mysterious wedding day was a lovely throwback to their proposal day in Queenstown where they were fogged out of a proposal on a gondola and David settled for Plan B, a misty, overcast proposal in the Queenstown Gardens.

But … overcast makes for the best photos because the light is gorgeous and even.

So never be worried if you have an overcast day! Your photos will be on point.

Gabrielle & David chose a beautiful piece from one of their favourite movies as a reading for their wedding … see if you recognise it!

Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world,
I think about the arrivals gate at an Airport.
General opinion would have us believe that we live in a world of hatred and greed,
But I don’t see that.
It seems to me that love is everywhere.
Often it’s not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it’s always there.
Fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives,
Boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends.
In times of greatest need, when people reach out to each other,
These messages are not of hate or revenge…They are all messages of love.
If you look for it,
I’ve got a sneaky feeling that you’ll find that love actually is all around.

I wish you bliss and love all around you, David & Gabrielle!
