Back on February 1st … when we could never have guessed how our world would change so exponentially and so very quickly… I did one of my favourite weddings ever.
It was on private family property, they had created the ultimate in boho gorgeousness and they had left no stone unturned in making everywhere you turned, an absolute vision of wedding perfection.
They chose to have their beloved dog Luka as ‘best dog’ … (look at those eyes!) and he was a superstar!
Words just can’t do it justice … just look through the photos!
They’d just thought of EVERYTHING! Where we stood for the ceremony … on the ground, is a gorgeous mandala made of stones and pebbles that Brooke created with her Mum.
Dylan handcrafted the seats that their guests sat on … and look at the little hanging seat over the lake!
They planted a Japanese cherry blossom tree as part of their ceremony too, since the wedding was at their family property … I love incorporating gorgeous unique moments like this!
The significance of the cherry blossom tree in Japanese culture that Brooke and Dylan chose, goes back hundreds of years.
It represents the brilliance, the fragility and the beauty of life.
When the cherry blossom tree blooms for just two weeks each each year in brilliant force, it serves as a visual reminder of how precious and how precarious life and love is, tying into the the buddhist themes of mindfulness and encouraging an appreciation of living in the present.
Cherry blossoms are a reminder that life is fleeting … encourages us to cherish to what we have around us.
