Destination Wedding Palmerston North

I love a destination wedding!
Getting out of Auckland and going to a different part of our glorious country to do a wedding is the best and a great chance to have a mini break!
And the clever tip … if you book me early enough for your destination wedding – we can get super cheap flights and keep the travel costs right down. Bonus!

This latest one was Palmerston North. My old stomping ground.
It was the first place I lived after I left home, went to teachers college there and lived there for three years. But that was a long time ago now – so when Samantha contacted me a couple of years ago to book me as her celebrant, I was super excited to book a weekend to come down and catch up with dear old friends as well as do Sam and Will’s wedding.
Sam and Will chose Aberdeen on Broadway as their wedding venue … it used to be called The Bathhouse when I lived there and I even sang there a few times in my band days so walking back in there years later was such a gorgeous treat!
There are so many highlights from Sam and Will’s divine wedding … but to pick out just a few – I LOVED that they involved their baby daughter Lucy in their ceremony. We created vows that they promised Lucy too … we incorporated a lovely little family moment at the end of the ceremony where Lucy’s Nana (who had been holding her in the front row the whole time – and she was SO GOOD!) brought her up and her Dad held her while we read their family promises to her. I adored this moment – it was so special and it will be gorgeous for her to look back on in years to come.
I also loved that Samantha chose black for her bridesmaids. They all looked absolutely stunning coming down the aisle and their bridal photos were on point.
It made Sam’s dress absolutely pop and is so timeless and classy.
It was a real family ceremony for these two – Will’s sisters read a cheeky piece about marriage at the end and I think set the tone for the life that Sam and Will have together. One of laughter and joy. The way love is meant to be.
I wish you all the happiness in the world, Mr and Mrs Kane!
